Discover this experience
Some musicians enjoy the structure of scores, some the freedom of a jam, and some others enjoy both separately. With Rhythm and Percussion with Signs the sensations of both improvisation and structure merge together. The signs allow each musician, at individual level, to contribute with creations and unique experience. Simultaneously, at a group level, a collective composition in real time arises, all coordinated by the conductor.
During improvisation there is a flow sensation, a fusion between actor and action in which spontaneity takes command of our hands and we walk on a thin line. Now, imagine to walk on that edge hand in hand with your friends in a collective balance where heterogeneity among individuals contributes to the richness of group creativity. Unique compositions are created while there is an intimate communion with the audience.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, however, sometimes even a thousand pictures can’t express a feeling: it is the poet’s drama. Because of this, an entire encyclopedia can be written about mango flavor; however, it can’t be compared with the first bite. You need to live the experience. This innovative technique has a description that appears complex. That is why we invite you to discover the experience with us. If you or your group are interested in learning more about Rhythm and Percussion with Signs, please contact us and we will gladly organize something. You can download the complete information for the workshop here. If you want to come to one of our concerts, check out our agenda.

“Improvisation with Signs gives you the opportunity to have a conversation, to listen and respond. You can thigthen or lose somebody else’s idea, by changing the pulse, complement it, adding or reducing beats or silences, by changing color, playing with those ideas and getting new ones. You can see music from another perspective, it allows musicians to deepen an advanced rhythmic training that strongly exercises auditive skills. It allows them to take rhythm to a limit using their own musical influences. In the meanwhile the conductor completes, harmonizes, organizes and directs. In general, the method nurtures intuitive diversity and allows rhythmic recognition of the other in a two way street. It is a game where we take out something we have already inside and express it together.”
